Our Computer Forensics Process
1. Assess Your Situation
We offer a free initial consultation over the phone or in person. We will assess your situation and analyze the circumstances of the case in order to determine the proper action best suited for your needs. Understanding your budget and forecasting if your case will require legal or not are a couple of key factors in assessing your case.
2. Evidence Acquisition
The evidence acquisition process ranges from complete forensic hard drive imaging to gathering information from additional sources such as servers, cell phones and laptops as well as implementing state of the art computer forensic tools and techniques, we are able to extract all pertinent files. This is performed in a manner consistent with the Best Practices of the Computer Forensic Guidelines, thus ensuring proper chain of custody and admissibility.
3. Evidence Analysis (e-Discovery)
e-discovery (electronic discovery) is the process in which we seek out relevant and critical data files which in most cases act as concrete evidence. In the process of electronic discovery, data of all types are uncovered and can serve as evidence. This digital evidence can include dates and timelines on e-mails, images, calendar files, databases, spreadsheets, web sites visited, computer programs, deleted files, computer history and other computer activities.
4. Report Findings
Once the discovery process is complete we will present you with an extensive report on the analysis. This report will be easy to understand and explained in precise detail. At this point in the process you will have a clear and thorough understanding of your situation.
5. Expert Witness Service
If your case ends up in court we can provide you with expert witness services. We are qualified to analyze evidence and give a professional opinion on what that evidence means, but also to be able to explain their findings in a clear and concise manner, as well as the ability to clearly, methodically and convincingly dispute any incorrect information the other side may put forward.
